Clinical Educator Workshops

Clinical Educator Workshops are held numerous times per year either virtually or in-person at locations throughout the province. Workshops are designed for those who are considering, who are new to, or who would like a refresher on, supervising students.

Workshops provide an overview of:

      • The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program
      • Goals of clinical education, including the clinical settings and services covered by student placements
      • Principles of adult learning
      • Expectations of a Clinical Educator
      • Expectations of students as they progress through the program
      • Setting learning objectives
      • Facilitation of learning, reflection and clinical reasoning
      • Providing feedback and assessing student performance
      • Identifying and addressing potential areas of concern

Workshops can be either a full-day format (six hours) or condensed (one to three hours). Evening and customized workshops (e.g., site-specific) are available upon request. Please email pt.educators@ubc.ca for more information.
