Clinical Educator Workshops

Clinical Educator Workshops are held numerous times per year either virtually or in-person at locations throughout the province. Workshops are designed for those who are considering, who are new to, or who would like a refresher on, supervising students.

Workshops provide an overview of:

- - The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program
  - Goals of clinical education, including the clinical settings and services covered by student placements
  - Principles of adult learning
  - Expectations of a Clinical Educator
  - Expectations of students as they progress through the program
  - Setting learning objectives
  - Facilitation of learning, reflection and clinical reasoning
  - Providing feedback and assessing student performance
  - Identifying and addressing potential areas of concern

Workshops can be either a full-day format (six hours) or condensed (one to three hours). Evening and customized workshops (e.g., site-specific) are available upon request. Please email pt.educators@ubc.ca for more information.
