Patient population description:

George Pearson Centre is a home for 120 adults with severe disabilities. The people who live here require specialized assistance as a result of disability, such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, or a variety of other conditions.

Physiotherapist expertise on site (special interests, degrees, certificates, etc.):

Physiotherapists will have experience in seating, maintenance programs, respiratory management, patients that are disabled or cognitive deficits, neuro rehab and exercise programs.

These types of learning opportunities may be available at this site:

Learning opportunities will include working in an interdisciplinary setting with other discliplines including Rehab Assistants, RN, LPN, RT, OT and Rec Therapy. Clients will typically be long term/residential therefore programs are focused on maintenence and prevention of complications. Physiotherapy provides exercise classes and one-on-one sessions.

OT, RN, LPN, Care Aide, RT, Rec therapy, Rehab Assistant, Social Work.
