Set in a beautiful ocean, mountain and valley paradise. Kitimat is located on the Douglas Channel just a few miles off British Columbia's inside passage. The major employers are an aluminum smelter and a petrochemical manufacturer.

Kitimat is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise with established hiking trails, world class fresh and saltwater fishing, with wildlife viewing and marine charters, scuba diving, swimming, waterskiing, and camping. We also have an 18-hole golf course in town, with cross-country and down hill skiing nearby. We have soccer and baseball fields, racquetball courts, two skating rinks, an aquatic center and an indoor recreation center with gyms, weight room and saunas.

The population is approximately 11,500, and there are two elementary schools, and two secondary schools. Kitimat offers affordable housing and natural splendor that supports a well balanced lifestyle.
