Jean’s teaching philosophy is to create a welcoming and open learning environment that encourages strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills while challenging students to develop sound clinical reasoning and engagement in evidence based practice.

Jean’s primary teaching focus is on neurological clinical skills, instructing in PHTH 544, PHTH 564 and PHTH 548 as well as coordinating PHTH 564.

In addition to instructing in the MPT program, Jean works clinically in neurological rehabilitation in Vancouver, BC.

The majority of Jean’s time is dedicated to teaching and coordination of the neurological stream for the MPT clinical program.

In June 2017, Jean was the successful recipient of the VCH Research Institute Knowledge Translation Award, where she is involved in ongoing research focused on several aspects of the transition of care from the pediatric to the adult health care systems for individuals with neurological conditions.
