Clinical Placement Overview & Requirements

Students complete 5 placements across the MPT program. Placements are either 5 weeks or 6 weeks long. Students must meet specific curriculum requirements to ensure they experience a diverse range of clinical settings/learning opportunities. All students will experience placements in acute/hospital inpatient care, community and/or rehabilitation settings, and ambulatory/private practice care. Within these experiences students will meet specific requirements related to cardiopulmonary, neurological, and musculoskeletal practice. These learning experiences will typically be at a mix of public and private sites across the province.

Depending on a student’s regional cohort, they will have additional requirements around where in BC their placements occur, and/or requirements around rural practice experiences.
