Registered Physical Therapist
Where do you work?
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Being able to partner with and work with local First Nations bands to provide Physiotherapy to these communities.
Why does physiotherapy matter?
Physical therapists can be very effective in helping with injury rehabilitation and prevention. With some of the elders that I see, physiotherapy can work wonders for strengthening and falls prevention.
What drew you to physical therapy?
I knew I wanted to work with First Nations groups in some form of healthcare, physiotherapy seemed to be the right fit for how I wanted to meet with my patients.
What is unique about what you do?
I’m Nisga’a/Gitxsan First Nations, and although I am not from the Nations I work in, it has been a unique and cherished experience of mine to be able to learn about the First Nations cultures with which I work.
What is one thing we might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve been known to play some recreational disc golf.
