Pulmonary Rehabilitation & Exercise Prescription: State of the Art & Science

What is the Pulmonary Rehabilitation & Exercise Prescription course?  What will I learn?

Pat Camp PT, PhD, and Gail Dechman PT, PhD will lead this state of the art interdisciplinary continuing education course for pulmonary rehabilitation professionals. Additional guest speakers include Chris Ryerson, PhD and Yannick Molgat-Seon, PhD.

The course highlights current practices in Canada and application of the latest research advances in pulmonary rehabilitation. Learners will use the results of exercise testing to create and progress evidence-based exercise prescriptions that address deficits in aerobic capacity and endurance and strength in people with chronic lung disease, including COPD and Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis.

An additional half-day (Vancouver only) will allow learners to administer field tests of aerobic capacity and strength for exercise prescription for people in pulmonary rehabilitation.

Physical therapists, respiratory therapists, nurses, physicians, exercise physiologists and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals.

Dates: Saturday September 22, 2018 (all locations), Sunday September 23, 2018 (half-day Vancouver only)
Time: 8:30 to 4:30 pm
Location: St. Paul’s Hospital Conference Centre (Vancouver), UNBC Plinth Lab (Prince George), Location TBA (Fort St. John)
Cost: $300 for registration in Vancouver (host site); $145 for registration in Prince George and Fort St. John
