Dr. Naznin Virji-Babul, an invited speaker for Workshop on Cognition in Down syndrome.

cropped-Naz1-Oct-11.jpgDr. Naznin Virji-Babul is well known for her neuroimaging and behavioural research in Down syndrome (DS). She was the first investigator to elucidate the differences in the timing, pattern and location of brain activity during functional tasks in adults with DS.  She has also published interesting findings about music perception in adults with DS.  She is one of several invited experts on DS to present at a workshop on Cognition in Down Syndrome- Molecular, Cellular and Behavioral Features and the Promise of Pharmacotherapies.  The goal of the conference, held in Washington DC, April 13 – 15 is to encourage new collaborations and expanded research directions relevant to cognition in DS and pharmacotherapies for cognition in DS.
