Post doctoral trainee, Marie Westby awarded a CIHR Research Award and the Elizabeth Dickens KT Prize

Dr. Marie Westby has been awarded a CIHR Post-doctoral Research Award, and the Elizabeth Dickens KT Prize. The supplement prize is offered to the highest ranked candidate who has applied to, and been deemed relevant for, the KT Priority Announcement. Marie will be co-supervised by Dr. Allyson Jones at University of Alberta and Dr. Linda Li at UBC/Arthritis Research Centre of Canada.

For her doctorate under the supervision of Linda Li, Marie developed best practice recommendations for post-acute rehabilitation after joint replacements. Her postdoctoral study will develop and pilot test two sets of quality indicators to measure and improve the quality of rehabilitation for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement surgery.
