Tyson Bell
First year MPT students, Tyson Bell (on placement in Fort St John, and yes from Fort St John!) and Christina Conrad (on placement at UHNBC and from Fort Nelson), are participating in the 2015 Healthcare Traveling Roadshow next week. A group of UBC and UNBC medical and health professional students will be travelling through communities in northern B.C. to educate elementary and secondary children about opportunities for careers in healthcare.
The seven-day event runs from June 7 to 13, and will hit high school students in Fort St. John June 8 to 10, and will also make a stop in Dawson Creek June 11, and a final stop in Tumbler Ridge on June 12.
The goal is to spark some inspiration in students so that they might pursue healthcare careers, ultimately returning to the Northeast to practice and helping to combat continued medical professional shortages in the region.
