Janice Eng to give a Vancouver Institute lecture

An Upcoming Vancouver Institute Lecture on February 7 will feature our own Professor Janice Eng, who will be speaking on “Stroke: New Evidence on Prevention and Recovery”. 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 2 of the Instructional Resources Centre at UBC.
Admission to lectures is free and the public is invited to attend.
Dr. Eng’s research program Is headquartered at the GF Strong Rehab Centre which is the largest rehab program in BC. She has clinical training in physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well research training in biomedical engineering. She has published over 180 peer-review publications in the field of neurological rehabilitation. Two of her stroke programs, GRASP for improving arm and hand function and FAME for improving fitness and mobility, are used In over 1500 sites in 40 countries. In 2009, she was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Her work has been recognized by a Jonas Salk Award for lifetime contributions to reducing disability.
